Volunteer Recruitment

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us! This recruitment drive is for individuals keen to volunteer for OH! Open House for our Heritage Activation Node at Punggol events happening in June 2026 and beyond. 

Available Opportunities:

1) Story Collector

  • About: Support HAN@Punggol's ongoing community engagement efforts, happening on weekends in June to July 2026. The stories you collect will be featured in an interactive art exhibition.
  • Role Description:
    • Engage directly with residents through to learn and document their stories of the neighbourhood.
    • Facilitate conversations between residents during casual afternoon gathering sessions for neighbours to connect and share stories.
    • Must be comfortable with public engagement.
  • Commitment:
    • Volunteers are encouraged to commit to 3-4 sessions (Weekend sessions available)

Volunteers will be accompanied by a staff or fellow volunteer for all methods (you'll never be left alone!). Please read the descriptions and select the methods you are comfortable with

1) Door-Knocking: Go door to door in residential estates (Sounds scary but we promise it's not as daunting and you meet some really lovely people).

2) House Warmings: These are casual gatherings hosted by residents for their neighbours. Volunteers assist by co-hosting the gathering and striking up conversations with attendees.

3) Community Centres/Coffee Shops/ Elderly Centres: Approach residents who are hanging out at community spaces to converse and ask for their stories.
